Bar and Bat MitzvahBima

Bnai Mitzvah are celebrated throughout the year on Shabbat mornings within in the context of our regular Shabbat services.   Our local children participate in the Sag Harbor Hebrew School from first grade until their Bar and Bat Mitzvah which prepares them for their lives as Jewish adults.  Members with children who live outside of the East End are expected to enroll the children in Hebrew school programs in their localities and receive private tutoring to prepare them to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in our Temple. 

Our Bnai Mitzvah participate in Friday night and Shabbat morning services, read from the Torah, chant their Haftarah and deliver a Dvar Torah that on the Torah portion (Parsha) for the week of their celebration.
